This is my mom's recipe for the most delicious baked sweet potato side dish. It's buttery, flavorful, and a sweet and salty party in your mouth. Adults and children love this dish!
Our Thanksgiving dinner is never complete without these marshmallow sweet potatoes. They're my mom's signature contribution to the spread, and everyone absolutely loves them. But it's hard not to love this dish. It's pretty, it's fun, and everyone loves marshmallows! Especially when they're ooey-gooey and roasted to golden perfection. Pair them with the buttery, salted sweet potatoes and we have a party! Always looking for ways to simplify Thanksgiving or Christmas meal prep? This dish could not be easier to make. Bring these to Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner and you will be very popular haha...everyone goes "ooooohhh!" when they see the marshmallows.
Peel and cube sweet potatoes and place in baking dish. Top evenly with 6 pats of butter and sprinkle with salt. You can add cinnamon if you prefer. Bake uncovered for 1 hr or until sweet potatoes are soft.
Sprinkle the top with marshmallows and return dish to oven and broil on LOW until golden. Sprinkle with chopped toasted pecans if desired and enjoy!
